These Terms of Service apply when you access or use TintLedger, including our website, app, PWA, and related services.
By using TintLedger, you agree to these Terms.
If you do not agree, do not use TintLedger.

2. Who may use TintLedger
TintLedger is intended for users aged 18 years or older.
TintLedger is designed for independent hair colourists, booth renters, salon suite operators, mobile/freelance colourists, and similar professional users.
You are responsible for making sure your use of TintLedger complies with laws and obligations that apply to you and your business.
3. Your account
You may need an account to use TintLedger.
You are responsible for:
- keeping your email account and sign-in access secure
- making sure information you enter is accurate
- all activity that happens through your account
- ensuring you have permission to enter any client information into TintLedger

4. What TintLedger does
TintLedger helps you:
- log colour formulas
- save client formula history
- calculate product/bowl cost from grams/ml
- manage Backbar product costs
- scan barcodes
- paste supplier orders
- import CSV product data
- view minimum charge and recommended charge estimates
- reuse formulas with Mix This Again
- export formula, client, and Backbar data where available
- manage subscription billing through Stripe
5. What TintLedger does not do
TintLedger is not:
- POS software
- booking software
- payroll software
- full salon-management software
- accounting, tax, legal, or financial advice
- a guarantee of profitable pricing
- a replacement for your professional judgement
You remain responsible for your final client quotes, prices, formulas, records, and business decisions.
6. Your data and content
You retain ownership of the client, formula, Backbar, product, and business information you enter into TintLedger.
You give TintLedger permission to host, store, process, transmit, display, and back up that information as needed to provide and improve the service.
You are responsible for the data you enter, including client data, formula notes, supplier information, pricing information, and product records.
Do not enter information you do not have permission to store or use.
7. Client, formula, and Backbar records
TintLedger may store client names, contact details, notes, formulas, product usage, product costs, Backbar records, and related information.
You are responsible for:
- checking formula and product information before using it
- deciding what client information is appropriate to record
- complying with your professional, business, privacy, and client obligations
8. Product costs and recommended charges
TintLedger calculates product costs and recommended charges using information entered or selected by you.
These calculations are estimates and depend on the accuracy of your inputs, including product costs, quantities, settings, service duration, and pricing configuration.
Recommended charges are informational only.
TintLedger does not guarantee that a recommended charge is correct, profitable, suitable, or appropriate for any particular client, service, or business.
You are responsible for final client pricing, quotes, discounts, and business decisions.
9. Barcode scanning and community catalogue
TintLedger may allow you to scan barcodes and use catalogue or community product information.
Catalogue and barcode information may be incomplete, outdated, duplicated, or incorrect.
You must review product identity, size, unit, cost, and other details before saving or using them.
When you confirm or save a scanned product, you may contribute product identity information to a shared catalogue. This may include barcode, brand, product name, product line, size, unit, category, and similar product metadata.
TintLedger may use contributed product identity information to improve the shared catalogue.
TintLedger does not intentionally share your private client details, private formulas, private prices, supplier prices, stock levels, or private notes into the shared catalogue.
10. AI-assisted supplier order parsing
TintLedger may use AI-assisted tools to help parse pasted supplier orders, invoices, or cart text.
AI output may be incomplete, inaccurate, or formatted incorrectly.
You must review all extracted product names, quantities, sizes, prices, and totals before saving or importing them.
Do not paste unnecessary client information, sensitive information, or personal information into supplier-order parsing fields.
AI-assisted parsing may use third-party providers such as OpenRouter and/or OpenAI.
11. Subscriptions, trials, billing, and renewal
TintLedger may offer a 14-day trial.
A payment method may be required to start the trial.
Unless you cancel before the trial ends, your selected paid plan will begin automatically after the trial.
Current launch pricing is:
- Australia: A$19/month or A$190/year
- United States/default: US$12/month or US$120/year
- Canada: C$17/month or C$170/year
- United Kingdom: £10/month or £100/year
Prices may vary by country, currency, taxes, promotions, or future plan changes.
Billing is handled by Stripe.
12. Cancellation
You can manage or cancel your subscription through the Stripe billing portal, available through Manage billing in TintLedger settings where available.
If you cancel, your access may continue until the end of the current paid period or trial period, depending on how billing is configured.
You are responsible for cancelling before your next renewal if you do not want to be charged.
13. Refunds and billing issues
TintLedger does not promise automatic refunds.
If you believe there has been a billing error, contact us at:
Billing errors and special cases may be reviewed case by case.
Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you may have under laws that cannot be excluded.
14. Data export after cancellation
TintLedger aims to keep export available where technically available in the product, including if your subscription lapses or is cancelled.
However, we cannot guarantee that data will remain available indefinitely after cancellation, non-payment, account closure, or extended inactivity.
We recommend exporting important formula, client, and Backbar records regularly.
15. Deleting app data and account closure
TintLedger may provide a Delete App Data feature in Settings.
This is designed to delete your formulas, clients, Backbar products, pricing settings, local drafts, and private user app data while preserving your sign-in account, authentication/session records, billing/subscription records, and shared/community catalogue records.
To request account closure, contact:
Some records may need to be retained for billing, security, legal, backup, or operational reasons.
16. Acceptable use
You must not use TintLedger to:
- break the law
- violate another person's rights
- access another user's account or data
- upload malware or harmful code
- interfere with the service
- overload, scrape, reverse engineer, or misuse the service beyond lawful rights
- submit false, misleading, harmful, or unlawful content
- use the service in a way that damages TintLedger, our users, or our providers
17. Third-party services
TintLedger relies on third-party services, which may include hosting, database, email, billing, sign-in, AI parsing, and infrastructure providers.
These services may have their own terms and policies.
TintLedger is not responsible for third-party services that are outside our control, but we use them to provide TintLedger.
18. Service availability
TintLedger is provided on an "as available" basis.
We aim to provide a reliable service, but we do not guarantee that TintLedger will always be available, uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.
PWA, offline, browser, local-storage, and sync behaviour may vary depending on your device, browser, connection, and settings.
You should export or back up important business records regularly.
19. Changes to TintLedger
TintLedger may change over time.
We may add, remove, limit, rename, or modify features, including during beta.
Where practical, we will try to avoid changes that unnecessarily interfere with your access to existing records.
20. Intellectual property
TintLedger, including its software, design, branding, text, and other materials, belongs to TintLedger or its licensors.
You may use TintLedger only as allowed by these Terms.
You must not copy, resell, misuse, or exploit TintLedger except as permitted by law or with our permission.
21. Feedback
If you send us feedback, suggestions, or ideas, you allow us to use them to improve TintLedger without payment or obligation to you.
22. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and share information.
By using TintLedger, you agree that we may handle information as described in the Privacy Policy.
23. Disclaimers
TintLedger is a tool to help you record formulas, estimate product costs, and support pricing decisions.
TintLedger does not provide accounting, tax, financial, legal, or professional business advice.
You are responsible for checking all formulas, costs, product data, AI-parsed results, barcode matches, and recommended charges before using them.
To the maximum extent allowed by law, TintLedger is provided without warranties except those that cannot legally be excluded.
24. Liability
To the maximum extent allowed by law, TintLedger is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or loss-of-profit damages arising from your use of the service.
Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any consumer guarantee, right, or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded, restricted, or modified.
Where liability cannot be excluded, our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.
25. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or restrict access to TintLedger if:
- payment fails
- you breach these Terms
- your use creates security, legal, technical, or operational risk
- we are required to do so by law
- we need to protect TintLedger, users, or third-party providers
Where reasonable, we will try to give notice before suspension or termination.
26. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time.
If changes are material, we will take reasonable steps to notify users, such as updating this page, showing an in-app notice, or emailing users where appropriate.
Your continued use of TintLedger after updated Terms take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
27. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia.
You and TintLedger submit to the courts with jurisdiction in Victoria, Australia.
