Convert package size and amount used into the same base dimension, then use this direct formula:
Package price × normalised amount used ÷ normalised package size

How rounding works
Each exact product line is rounded half-up once to two decimal places. A half-cent such as A$0.005 becomes A$0.01. The total then adds those already rounded line cents; it does not round one combined raw total.
Cost per selected usage unit is explanatory display only and never feeds a product line or total.
Calculator limitations
This free tool performs a one-off direct product-cost calculation. It does not save products, formulas or client records.
- Mass and volume stay separate because no product density is inferred.
- Currency changes the label and formatting only. The calculator does not convert exchange rates.
- Each product line is rounded half-up to cents before the displayed line cents are added into the total.
- Service price is optional context only. It does not decide what a service should cost.
- Mixing ratios, formula scaling, waste, reorder quantities and tax calculations are outside this tool.
This subtracts direct product cost only. Labour, overhead, tax, fees and other costs are not deducted.
